Over breakfast, Mallory talked about writing a slop cookbook, as if nobody's thought of that before (but it comes up every year). Chuk talked about the job satisfaction he gets from supply chain management. Taylor told LaLa whoever sits next to Jason tomorrow goes, and whoever sits next to Rome stays. (She's probably right about Rome but Jason isn't the sure bet to stay she thinks he is.) And Taylor also told LaLa not to talk to Dee or Angela Egg about keeping Rome, because of their expressions when that came up with them earlier. LaLa said her goal is to not be Have-not all season, and elsewhere, Angela Egg said she'll do it but hopefully not next week after being in the egg. She felt light-headed and laid down upstairs near an A/C vent for awhile, complaining all the while about the suit. Angela Egg also told Devens about Honor Society, which he probably already knew about.Mallory tried to remember the pun about the egg costume, guessing "crack the case" and Haley agreed. (Not a bad guess but it's hard-boiled detective/deteggtive - study your noir, kids.) LaLa, Taylor, Jason studied days, comps, and time travel dates, but they had a lot of the time travel dates wrong. And they memorized episode air dates, which I don't think have ever come up. Recall Angela Egg and Dee talked about putting a towel behind the toilet to make LaLa mad. Well a towel appeared back there in the night, and LaLa asked a few people if they put it there, and she got denials. ![]() She grabbed Angela Egg's magnifying glass (reminding me Angela Egg hasn't been carrying it around like she's supposed to), and she made a big show of investigating the towel incident. She really got into the role and had fun with it, as did most of them. The towel drop time was narrowed down by collecting times of overnight pee visits, theories were made, and more denials followed. It turned out Drew left the first towel there, intentionally for the prank, and Jason left a couple more. (Drew confessed to Angela Egg, Dee, Devens, Haley, and eventually to LaLa I believe, as did Jason.) Angela Egg had a great fall in HOH, rolling right off a stool and onto the floor. Dee told Haley she thinks Drew or Barrett would come after Kamu or Chuk, and Haley ran with that, taking it to Kamu moments after Kamu and Drew had a big bonding/loyalty segment. LaLa studied some of the house decor items for a comp that may never come, along with Melody. Melody and Drew did some jumping and (bad) ballroom dancing as temporary relief for boredom and cabin fever. The episode came and went, and it made better use of the extra Wednesday time than usual. There wasn't a lot of vote waffling on feeds, for a Wednesday, but there was a lot of mistaken info and questioning of who said what to whom, and a whole lot of who'd nominate whom, as usual. Haley told Dee she wants to win HOH so she can put up LaLa, adding "I just want to be a bitch right now." Dee didn't miss a beat telling her "I know you have RBF right now." Haley followed up with a lot of threat noises, like she does. Yash pointed out if Rome stays, he'll get "the Keanu edit" - accurate. Have-nots should be able to eat at midnight but there was no food prep or plans for a midnight meal that I heard, and it sounded like they thought they wouldn't eat til tomorrow? We'll know when we know.As of now, Rome will probably shake Julie's hand tomorrow if he doesn't win Block Buster and if he does, it'll probably be Jason. Subject to change. Day 15 - Tuesday - July 21, 2026 Taylor started this locked-inside day with a long bed monologue about the advantages and disadvantages of being a vampire versus being a werewolf. It makes you wonder how often she's doing wonderful things like this in her bunk bed when we and they assume she's sleeping. She joined the rest of them for awhile, and she and Mallory excitedly planned a tea party for Sunday, complete with cute invites on everyone's beds. (Why not now? Future hamster activity plans hardly ever happen. I don't think the elaborately planned prank of hiding half the forks last night happened, as an example.) Chuk, Kamu, Rome each boasted and philosophized loudly, separately, about themselves.Dee and Haley promised their votes to Melody and said they'd like to talk game with her. (Oop, Dee is one of the five votes Jason thinks he has.) Angela Egg joined and Dee urged Melody to work on and flirt with Chuk and Kamu. Angela Egg said Kamu's already a little jealous of Melody flirting with Chuk. Kamu looked like he was playing piano at the times table - maybe he's the tinkly player. Haley told Angela Egg that Kamu pitched an F2 to her, but she thinks you should go to F2 with someone from the other side of the house. Devens told Survivor stories. Contrary to Haley's thought, Drew told Kamu he wants their Handymen duo in the final two chairs like Hitmen and Chill Town. (Oop, Dr Will and Boogie were never in finals together.) Later Drew and Barrett formalized their final two as the Jugglers. LaLa told Lyric and Taylor that Rome better live up to his boasts and win Block Buster, since he's the reason they're in a bad spot now. Angela Egg, Dee, LaLa, Taylor had a conversation with a working together type tone, and they named themselves Honor Society. Angela Egg later told Chuk, Haley, Dee about that. Most of the guys did some choreographed hands-in clappy claspy game that I didn't understand and don't want to. I just hope they cleaned up afterwards. Votes were counted here and there but it's only Tuesday, and plans for who various people would nominate if they win HOH also happened, mostly from people who probably won't win HOH. The anti-Drew and anti-Melody movements grew a little more, a lot of it from Angela Egg, Dee, Haley in various combinations, and Drew joined Haley for some anti-Melody talk. Most all of them did some really loud primal screaming for awhile, which may or may not have helped their cabin fever. They got their first booze delivery (other than move-in and HOH baskets), and the women gathered in the pantry to debate if they should share it or not. They did, and the volume of multiple conversations crept up louder, but we got more extended WBRBs than feeds for awhile. If any of them had any inkling they may have been given booze because they're already boring and content is needed, they didn't let on. But Rome came through on that a bit: a guys' meeting was talked about all day and one finally happened as Rome gathered all the men in the gym except Jason and Devens, and he made a pitch to keep him on Thursday. He said he's come to love them all and if they keep him around he'll be a target and a shield. Then he made the same pitch to all the women in the bathroom. I've never seen anything like it.If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. Day 14 - Monday - July 20, 2026 Morning brought some minor disasters as they waited for the veto meeting. Angela Egg spilled a pile of Splenda on the times table because she couldn't see what she was doing from her egg, and the coffee maker stopped working - that would have a lot of us hitting the panic button. Mallory attempted coffee maker surgery but was unable to get it going, and Devens made a crack about how the Pipe Queen should be able to fix it. Jason and Lyric had a block party in the morning sun, looking like the junior tennis team ready for a match. It was a short-lived block party, as Devens is still planning to pull Lyric off the block, and he let her know that. He also told Mallory, and apologized for putting up her friends, and eventually he told nearly everyone else. And Lyric confirmed the plan to Rome when he asked, since he saw her talking with Devens. So no shockfaces today (boo) and probably no drama either, unless Jason delivers. Also this morning, Haley and Rome had a clear-the-air convo (I don't know what about, and don't care, sorry) and Rome told Angela he heard a rumor that she's the ringleader of that side. He said he heard it from Jason but doesn't think he started it. (Angela Egg will probably stew on that.) And Yash pitched an alliance to Devens to include Barrett and Drew. When Devens reported that to those two plus Dee, they all laughed because Dee wasn't included, and of course Yash wouldn't want to include a woman. Devens said maybe he can "float it past our leader Yash" and bring her in. Devens talked about wanting LaLa to go on slop, saying she'd self-destruct. The vets plus Haley seem obsessed with her and I don't know if they think they have a valid reason for that or not, but I'm monitoring that situation along with a lot of other people. She already does most of the cooking and a lot of the cleaning in there. Devens followed through with his plan of taking Lyric off the block and putting Rome on it. There wasn't any drama other than LaLa being upset because she's still strongly attached to Rome. Rome acted like he wasn't bothered, he'll win the Block Buster, and he ran through his series of tough guy clichés a few times. He and Lyric exchanged spit and I love yous as they commiserated before Rome went off to do rounds with an unbothered air, saying "Devens did the respectable thing and took Lyric off the block for me." (I don't think that's why Devens did it.)I'd been told Devens is a master of chaos but since he told everyone what he was going to do with his veto, the afternoon was was slow and quiet as if we're a couple months in rather than just two weeks. They were told the yard is closing tomorrow which brought theories that are probably wrong, and pre-emptive gripes. Word games broke out for a little while, but didn't go far. Dee, Drew, Barrett talked about pranks. Drew wanted to hide the replacement coffee maker but Barrett and Dee said NOPE to that. They decided to hide half of the house forks tonight. Angela Egg and Devens had a check-in, with Angela Egg disagreeing with several of Devens' theories about their roomies and what the future holds. And Devens told her about Yash's pitch about him, Barrett, Drew. (Angela Egg will probably stew on that too.) Melody told Mallory she's not with Rome anymore after the noms fiasco, like so many of them, and that's why she "snatched up" Drew. Haley and Devens griped about LaLa some more. Taylor told Rome she's heard whoever sits next to Melody will go home. Jason counted votes and figured he probably has five with Angela, Barrett, Dee, LaLa, Taylor, so he'd only need two more to stay if he doesn't win Block Buster. Dee forgot who Mallory is for a moment, and Kamu forgot who Jason is for a moment. LaLa made dinner for most of them, again, and they loved it. Dee and Angela Egg got silly and giggled a lot again, this time with Haley and Kamu. Jason pretended to want to learn about basketball from the brojocks, and then he rehashed the first couple weeks, and his Reasons for the messy things he did and said, with Mallory. The WBRBs were out of control most of the evening, and for no apparent reason. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
